My vision for OwlPal is for it to be the go-to platform for homeschoolers across the United States.

OwlPal began as a concept I had during my second year of homeschooling my youngest daughter.  I found myself frustrated at the lack of any real guidance.  I know there are plenty of resources, but they are fragmented, expensive, or don’t fit what my daughter needs.  There was no step-by-step guide to use for reference, at least not that I ever found.  So, need being the mother of all invention, I decided to keep notes and eventually built a website to help other families find homeschool resources.  As the website grew I began looking into app development…and here we are – nearing the launch of the most incredible homeschool resource!

I wanted to the app to be customizable, interactive, based on user needs, scalable, etc.    With that in mind, the platform was designed with setup wizards for parent user accounts and student user accounts.  Ultimately, this provides homeschool parents the ability to configure their app to suit the needs of each of their children.

Additionally, homeschooling can be expensive, and I find so many parents asking how they can even afford to homeschool.  So, to make homeschooling possible for some families, I’ve added the ability to monetize from parent accounts.  This is achieved by adding to the community!  Parent users can sell digital products through the marketplace, refer new users, and submit articles to the knowledgebase.  There are rules and agreements, because at the end of the day this is a business, but the rules are fair and reasonable, at least in my humble opinion.  By signing up for OwlPal’s Newsletter new users will receive OwlPal’s Guide to Monetization.  This will be available to registered users 05/06/2024, via private link on OwlPal.net.  If it hasn’t been mentioned enough already, don’t forget to join the newsletter!

By no means is what I’ve mentioned above everything you can expect from OwlPal.  It’s really just the beginning.  OwlPal will provide homeschool families with unlimited curriculum options, customizable interfaces, record keeping, lesson planning, a huge marketplace, knowledgebase, business directory, interactive learning features (student app), monetization ability, printable progress reports and report cards, step-by-step guidance, state laws, and so much more.  Additionally, there will be regular polls and opportunities to suggest new features.

My hope is that over the course of the next year we, as an amazing homeschool community, can help one another!

Side note:  Yes, I believe the public school system is a nightmare.  I’ve had three daughters go through public school, and I went through it myself.  This is my opinion, and while I believe most teachers love to teach, I also believe they are bound by federal, state, and local government.  Bullying is a constant problem, pedophiles continue to infiltrate schools, gun violence is reoccurring, illnesses are abundant, children are stripped of their individuality, and the focus of public-school education tends to be on attendance, testing, and funding rather than building strong, unique, and capable individuals.  I hope to begin a movement of change through OwlPal and I hope you’ll help me.  Together, we can make a difference!
